The methods commonly used in the Stretch Therapy sessions include but are not limited to, Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST) created by Ann & Chris Frederick from the Stretch to Win Institute of Scottsdale, Arizona and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) created by Aaron Mattes from Stretching USA Sarasota, Florida.

Active Isolated Stretching is based off Sherrington's Law of Reciprocal InhibitionIt is a very effective approach to unlocking tightness in the joints. AIS is a whole system developed to stretch and strengthen the client.  AIS helps to restore and maintain optimum range of motion and function.

 

Fascial Stretch Therapy™ is built off the principles of PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation).  The focus is improving the movement throughout the fascial nets and reducing adhesions. It is a whole body, functional approach to improving mobility throughout the entire body.

Fascia is the soft connective tissue made up mostly of collagen, which runs throughout your entire body and is connected to all of your body's important structures.  


Your fascia gets thicker, shorter and less pliable with injury, age, sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, repetitive movement, dehydration, exercise and overtraining.  Stretch Therapy counteracts this damage to your fascia.
